How does Yawdio work?

You load Yawdio into your DAW as a VST3 or AU plugin. It scans the plugins installed on your machine, then you describe what you want in plain language, like “make this pluck shorter and brighter”. Yawdio sets the parameters for you and shows every change as it happens, so you can hear the result and take over at any time.

Which plugins can Yawdio control?

Accepted Answer

Any VST3 or AU plugin you have installed. Yawdio reads a plugin’s automatable parameters and sets them for you, so it works across your whole collection of synths and effects. Serum 2 goes deeper: there Yawdio also chooses wavetables and oscillators, loads LFO shapes and impulse responses, and draws on your own Serum preset library, all of which sit outside the automatable parameters. Four of the seven free packs are built specifically for Serum 2.

What operating systems does Yawdio work on?

macOS and Windows. On macOS, Yawdio installs as either a VST3 or an Audio Unit (AU); on Windows it installs as a VST3. You also need an internet connection, since the AI runs in the cloud rather than on your CPU. On macOS you grant your DAW Accessibility permission so Yawdio can operate the plugin interface.

Does Yawdio work with all DAWs?

Yawdio works in any DAW that supports VST3 or AU plugins, including Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Bitwig, Studio One, Reaper and Cubase. It loads as an instrument.

Question 5

Is Yawdio generative AI? Does it make the music for me?

Accepted Answer

No. Yawdio doesn’t generate audio and doesn’t compose anything. It sets plugin parameters, and you see every change it makes and can override any of them. If you want a tool that hands you a finished track, this isn’t it.

Does Yawdio replace my current plugins?

Accepted Answer

No, the opposite. Yawdio doesn’t make sound of its own. It drives the plugins you already own, so what comes out is your synths, your presets, your signal chain. There’s no new ecosystem to learn.

What is a credit?

One credit generates one custom preset for one plugin. The beta plan includes 100 credits per month.

Packs are how you give your copy of Yawdio new capabilities. Each one teaches it a genre or a production technique, so you can make it better at the thing you actually want. Seven free packs are available to every subscriber, covering house, R&B and soul, drums and percussion, sound design, inspiration and production essentials.

Who is Yawdio for?

Producers, sound designers and complete beginners. If you know the sound you want but not which knobs get you there, Yawdio closes that gap. If you’re experienced, it’s a fast way to reach a starting point you wouldn’t have thought of yourself.
